Vice President, Translational Medicine

Dena Minning, MD, PhD, joined 3-V Biosciences in January 2008 as Vice President of Translational Medicine. Prior to joining 3-V, Dr. Minning was a Director in Early Development at Amgen, where she served as the Early Development Leader for therapeutic programs in anemia, heart failure, and pain, and Clinical Scientist for programs in asthma and dyslipidemia, overseeing IND-enabling activities through Phase 2 clinical studies. Prior to joining Early Development, Dr. Minning was an Associate Director in Licensing at Amgen, where she played a significant leadership role in partnering with Cytokinetics, for which she eventually served on the Joint Development Committee.

Dr. Minning’s academic research focused on host-pathogen interactions resulting in publications in major peer-review scientific journals, such as Nature, and presentations at scientific meetings, including a Gordon Research Conference.

Dr. Minning received her MD (Alpha Omega Alpha and the I. Wallace Liebner Award awarded to the top graduate in clinical medicine) and PhD (Spencer T. Olin Fellow) from Washington University in St. Louis. Her post-graduate internal medicine training was performed at University of California, San Francisco. She completed her BS in Biochemistry at the University of Florida (Phi Beta Kappa, High Honors).
